The Annual Meeting of the lot owners of The Buffalo City Cemetery, dba Forest Lawn Cemetery Group (Forest Lawn Cemetery, Clarence Fillmore Cemetery, Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Forest Hill Cemetery, Freedom Cemetery Society, The Freedom Rural Cemetery, Gethsemane Cemetery, Griffins Mills Cemetery Association, Lakeside Cemetery, The Lancaster Rural Cemetery Association, The Oakwood Cemetery Association, Quaker Settlement Cemetery Association, St. Matthew’s Cemetery, and Williamsville Cemetery) will be held in person at the Forest Lawn Chapel in Forest Lawn Cemetery or via video conference as allowed by law.

The call will originate from Buffalo City Cemetery’s main address at 1411 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY, 14209 on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.

There have also been two satellite locations established to provide all lot owners access to the video conference: Newstead Public Library, Main Floor Meeting Room located at 33 Main Street, Akron, NY 14001 and St. Matthew’s Cemetery Chapel located at 180 Old French Road, West Seneca, NY 14224.

The purpose of the meeting is to elect three trustees to serve for a term as outlined in the by-laws of Buffalo City Cemetery, and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before this meeting. The nominees for trustee are: Stephen Bell, Ruth D. Bryant, and James M. Wadsworth. All lot owners who attend the meeting will need to provide verification of identity and lot ownership. Each lot is entitled to one vote at the meeting. In order to comply with Section 726 of the New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law, notice is hereby given that on April 1, 2024, The Buffalo City Cemetery renewed its Officers and Directors liability insurance policy with the Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America at an annual premium of $17,748.00, which policy covers all officers and directors.
